Job Description

Managing the SME Collections & Recoveries portfolio.

Managing Excesses and Loan arrears.

Reducing the impairment losses.

Achieve quality and productivity targets by leveraging resources and support functions optimally. Aim to reduce the impairment losses and maximise recoveries and close files in the minimum space of time.

Reduce the bad debts through monitoring of loan arrears by effective use of the OCS Queues & Credit Monitor tools through reduction in value of CAT 1 accounts and reduced flows of accounts to CAT 2 & CAT 3 under the SME Portfolio.

Achieve monthly Team targets with specific focus on early arrears, non-performing loans and post write-off recoveries

Call customers and follow up on outstanding loan arrears and excesses & persuade them to settle their indebtedness.

Professionally negotiate re-payment with debtors by form of payment in full, settlements and / or payment arrangements

Preparing and issuing of Arrears Notices & Demand Notices to defaulting customers

Take appropriate action through the OCS queues, namely, effect PTPs, effect short term payment arrangement, diarize for follow up, collect funds to settle excesses and arrears, update remarks on all requisite platforms. Clear OCS queues regularly. Follow up on instructions to branches & other bank Officials.

To take responsibility for all legal issues which arise during the normal course of Business

Liaise with “in house legal counsel” for difficult opinions and interpretations.

Liaise and manage third parties – Debt Collectors, Attorneys, bailiffs, receivers and security firms..

Monitors to ensure security on the recoveries accounts is perfected, held, and valid.

Evaluates and refers to Head Credit and Senior Manager – ORM any requests to release /amend any securities – on accounts under recoveries.

Always ensure general knowledge of business and industry knowledge.

Responsible for efficient and satisfactory resolution of queries and problems.

Adhere to agreed turnaround times

Perform other ad-hoc credit related duties as when requested

Critical success is the ability to use initiative to close files and bring outstanding NPL cases to an end
